The Town of Granville Board of Health (Selectboard), Town Administrator and Granville Emergency Services are continuing to monitor the Coronavirus National Emergency and State of Emergency in Massachusetts.

NUMBER OF CONFIRMED CASES:   On Monday, March 30th, 2020, the Board of Health was notified of our first confirmed case in the Town of Granville.  Since then, the number has risen to ten as of June 26, 2020.  The Board of Health will continue to update the information on the Town website.  The town website is the only location we will be posting this information. Please understand that due to privacy issues, we are unable to share personally identifiable information such as names and addresses.  The Board of Health urges the residents of Granville to closely follow the recommendations of the CDC and Massachusetts Department of Public Health.  These include the frequent proper washing of hands, practicing social distancing, staying home, especially if exhibiting cold or flu symptoms, coughing and sneezing into elbows, and avoiding high risk populations to name a few. Contact your primary care physician if you are feeling unwell.

MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE CANCELLED: The Annual Memorial Day Service scheduled for Sunday, May 24th at Noon has been cancelled due to the safety concerns of public gatherings during this state of emergency. Please remember those who gave there lives in the line of duty to our country this Memorial Day Weekend.

The Board of Health/Selectboard has taken the following actions to help protect the residents and employees of Granville since the beginning of this crisis:

Town Hall has been closed to the public for daily business since March 14, 2020. The playground at the Granville Village School are also closed until further notice.(Updated 6/2/20).

We encourage residents to use the town website or call and leave a message for town employees/departments you are doing business with at 413-357-8585.  Many employees are now working remotely from home or are shifting schedules to limit contact with other employees.  Please understand that Town employees are part-time and may not be working their regular posted hours.  Please call and leave a message to set up an appointment to conduct business with departments. Please check the website for meeting schedules as they may be rescheduled or be available via conference call.  Community activities at Town Hall, Town Green or Old Meeting House are suspended until further notice. Phone and email messages will be returned as soon as possible.

Residents are encouraged to sign up for our Code Red community notification system to receive updates and notices in an emergency. Visit the town website here to register.

Real estate and personal property tax bills have been mailed out on March 31, 2020.  Residents should be paying their tax bills through the mail or online. We have installed a drop off mail-slot with lock box at Town Hall in lieu of bringing into the Finance office. For employee health reasons, paying bills by cash is not an option at this time due to the unprecedented nature of the epidemic.  Please utilize the UniPay on-line bill paying page on the town website CLICK HERE FOR UNIPAY.

The Granville Library has decided to until further notice. All programing and activities are cancelled. (Updated 3/15/20 & 3/31/20)

Please be mindful of our town employees. If you or your family are ill, please refrain from visiting all Town facilities, including the Transfer Station. Please be patient and considerate of the town employees and fellow residents and follow the instructions of the transfer station attendants.

The Health Agent has visited all Town businesses that interact with or host the public to ensure that each business takes proper precautions to help reduce the spread of this virus.
