Board of Health: In Granville as in many small towns, the Selectboard acts as the Board of Health. The Board’s mission is to promote the public health. Since the area is very technical the Town contracts with professionals for the review of septic designs, as well as housing, pools, septics, animal and food inspections. The local Board conducts Dog Hearings, manages health emergencies and monitors infectious disease control
Eric Forish is the Board of Health Administrator. He observes all percolation tests and reviews all septic plans. The cost for a percolation test is $160.00. The cost for a septic plan review and issuance of a permit is $150.00. The Conservation Fee of $80.00 is always charged for plan review and if the Inspector has questions about wetlands, you will also be required to have the lot reviewed by the Conservation Commission before the lot is perked.
The Perk Season is March 15-May 15 and September 15-Novemer 15. To request a perk test you can download the form, Application for Perk Test complete it and send it the Town. The Board of Health Regulations are published in HOW TO BUILD A HOUSE IN GRANVILLE 2008. You will need to secure a trench permit for the perk test as well as when you install the system: Trench Application

All newly licensed septic installers must complete an exam for licensing. The exam should be downloaded, Septic Installer Exam completed and returned to the Town Hall. The fee for a Septic Installer License and for a Septic Hauler's License is $15.00.

The Board of Health Inspector is Tom Fitzgerald He performs all the food, housing and public pool inspections in town. Each Inspection costs $50.00.
